Mr Christie Leet gets enormous satisfaction when members of his sales team achieve sales success.
Three of his sales staff recently achieved outstanding results at the recent PRDnationwide annual awards with their inclusion in the national top ten list of sales achievers. "Watching those people change their lives, have families and create financial stability is where I get my greatest sense of satisfaction from," he says.
It's no hat trick that for the fourth year in a row, the team from PRDnationwide Whitsunday have dominated the group's annual awards including the number one office in Australia based on sales results. He says the biggest thing to happen in the Proserpine area was the building of Laguna Quays in the early 1990s.
"For $250 million to be invested in a small regional country town had a fantastic effect and generated a lot of confidence in the growth potential of the region." He says a defining moment for Airlie Beach was the building of the Airlie Beach Lagoon. "It is wonderful for tourism and for the State Government to fund such a project was fantastic for the town. It was very much a community driven project."
The National Park behind Airlie Beach means that further development is limited. "We have a property and population cap similar to the Noosa Heads. Two new marinas will be built over the next few years. The Port of Airlie and a marina at Shute Harbour will pave the way for more waterfront property and that will be fantastic."
He studied law and business at James Cook University Townsville and the legal training has given him greater understanding of the role the law plays in the property industry.
He is also excited about what is happening on Hamilton Island where the business has also had an office since 1998. "The Oatley family, who purchased Hamilton Island in 2003, want to create the number one lifestyle destination in the world. Hamilton Island will reap the benefits of the world class 18-hole golf course recently completed at nearby Dent Island. This will add a whole new dimension to the island and also attract more corporate groups."
