HOW TO RENT DURING COVID-19

HOW TO RENT DURING COVID-19

Can I still rent with PRD Ingleburn?

Yes, we have many high-quality properties in the local and surrounding regions. We are dedicated to finding you the perfect home in these trying times. To view the many properties that are available, visit our website, prd.com.au/Ingleburn, or contact us on 02 9605 3433 or 0406 755 331.

What about routine inspections?

Due to the pandemic, until further notice, face-to-face routine inspections will be moved to virtual inspections. This means that we will be able to use FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom or any other video call technology to inspect our tenants’ properties. Talk to PRD property manager about what is possible in your area.

How do I view rental properties without open homes?

As per new Government regulations, along with the safety of tenants and staff, we are unable to hold face-to-face open homes. We can, however, offer other alternatives to the traditional open homes, including virtual tours or one-on-one private inspections (meaning with only 1 person or persons, if from the same household).

I am moving to a new suburb, how should I learn about the new area?

We understand that moving to a new suburb can be stressful and will take some time getting used to the neighbourhood and accessing shopping centres and other amenities. But our staff are more than happy to offer any help to those who are new to the area in locating essential shops and other facilities. Let our property managers know if you would like to learn more about your new suburb without leaving the comfort and safety of your home.

What about repairs and other maintenance issues?

Our offices are still operating remotely, and we are available to assist with any issues regarding repairs and maintenance to your home. As usual, tenants should be keeping us aware of all maintenance and repair concerns by reporting them to us when they arise. Where possible, we are asking tenants to lodge their maintenance through the online tenant portal and supply clear photos of the issue.

Our team will assess repairs on a case by case basis and work with you to prioritise essential repairs.

Are property managers still available to meet?

Yes, we are still open for business, however, most of our meetings will be conducted over the phone or via video call and emails and texts. Most of our teams are now working remotely, but please know your property manager will always remain contactable.

I am having trouble meeting rental payments. What should I do?

The overall health, along with the mental health, and the safety of our team, owners and tenants will always be our utmost priority. We understand that these are unprecedented and trying times, and we assure you that we are here to support you through it. We will be working with you to manage this fluctuating situation.

Please don't hesitate to contact us directly in order to discuss further steps and keep us informed if your own situation changes so we can work together.

It is time for me to move in/vacate the property. What is the procedure?

  • If a tenant is due to vacate, the process will continue as normal. We will be making sure to adhere to all relevant health and safety precautions and Government regulations.
  • If a tenant wishes to postpone vacating the property, and there is no reason that they must leave, we will work with the landlord and the tenant to find a mutual solution.
  • For tenants that are moving in, we can send all documentation electronically and we will still conduct our signup appointment via video.

If you have any further questions about in-going and out-going tenants, contact your property manager to discuss directly.
