Tony, now aged 86, delved into the world of real estate in 1958 and five years later was the sole owner of one of the region’s most successful agencies.
He prides himself on building a reputation from the ground up having immigrated to Australia with no English language skills and few contacts. He was one of the thousands of Europeans who came to Australia in the 1950s in search of a better life. He credits his working-class Italian upbringing for many of the attributes he has instilled into his employees.
Over the many dedicated years, he has carved out a career that has seen him win countless industry awards and the respect of his clients. Under his leadership the business has grown and today boasts more than 1400 properties on its books and 18 employees including his son and manager, Frank.
His success has been built on a commitment to loyalty and honesty. “Every day for the past 58 years I have respected and looked after my customers”, he said. “If you are loyal and tell the truth, they come back to you.”
Tony entered local politics in late 1987 serving Liverpool City Council as a councillor for 17 years. In 2004 Tony was recognised by the previous Prime Minister, The Hon John Howard MP for his services to Liverpool.
In 1988, the then Premier of NSW, The Hon Nick Greiner MP opened his extended and much larger office. It was then that Tony announced the formation of a partnership with his son, Frank. Nucifora Real Estate Pty Ltd is a family-run business proudly providing all facets of real estate services to the Liverpool community.
At the 2013 Australia Day ceremony, Graham Ross, the Australia Day Ambassador, and Liverpool Mayor, Ned Mannoun, awarded Tony the greatest honour bestowed on a local by being awarded the “Mayoral Macquarie Award”. Having been committed to Liverpool for over half a century, he has secured his position as one of Liverpool’s most well known, knowledgeable, popular and trusted business persons.
