According to Greater Whitsunday Alliance chief executive Kylie Porter, there seems to be a worker shortage felt across the entire job market.
"In 2021, it is pointing a spotlight directly on those sectors which are experiencing more pressures than usual," she said.

"The jobs that are available across our region are in all levels, from a storeperson in a warehouse, cleaners, all the way up to engineers, professional roles, and everything in between.
"It's a reflection of a very strong regional economy which we're lucky to have in Mackay Isaac Whitsunday."

The following issues, such as Covid-19, border closures heightened the demand on the region's long-term labour shortage.
Employers are searching for skilled workers and people across numerous levels, abilities, and experiences.

Ms. Porter stated that labour shortages are being experienced across the entire nation.
