WHITSUNDAY E-NEWS REAL ESTATE: 2nd week of June

Hi, I'm Annette Neil from PRD Whitsunday with this week's e-update.
I was pleased this week to receive some statistics from core logic about the residential property market for the month of May nationally. We saw prices increase by 2.2 percent across the country.

In the rental market, we saw rent prices go up by 3.3 percent. Again, this is largely driven by regional markets where there were larger increases; however, the more static inner-city markets did bring that average down slightly.

Now is the ideal time to invest in the market when you can get an interest rate as low as 1.8 percent. The baby boomers out there will have the stories where they were paying 20 percent many years ago for their interest rates.
