Supporting Local Impact Through Border Trust’s Big Day Out
Matt & Kelly had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Border Trust “Big Day Out”, spending the afternoon visiting four local organisations that continue to make a meaningful impact across our community through the support of grants and donations.
The afternoon included visits to The Hive, Uniting Wodonga, the Community Garden and Country Hope. Each organisation shared insight into the important work they do, the growing needs within our community, and how local funding directly supports their programs and services.
The experience was both inspiring and eye opening, highlighting the important role community organisations play in supporting local families and individuals.
Kelly reflected on the afternoon, sharing:
“The event was really enjoyable and good to hear more about what they do exactly, where the grant has gone and what they want to do with more grants.”
Matt echoed the sentiment, adding:
“It’s just so eye opening to see so many organisations that operate purely on grants or donations. Then you hear the volume of people they support, and it makes you wonder how people using these facilities would get by if they weren’t there.”
A huge thank you to Border Trust and all the incredible organisations who welcomed us and generously shared their stories and experiences. Opportunities like this are an important reminder of the impact local giving can have across our region.
