PRD's Beanies & Breaky for Brain Cancer – Join Us on June 20th!

At PRD Port Stephens, giving back to the community isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we proudly do. For the past eight years, our team has supported the Mark Hughes Foundation in the fight against brain cancer, and this year, we’re stepping up once again with a local fundraising event we’d love you to be part of.

🔥 What’s Happening?

We’re hosting a BBQ breakfast fundraiser on Friday 20th June, from 8:00am to 10:30am at our office carpark located at 4 Central Avenue, Salamander Bay.

It’s called Beanies & Breaky for Brain Cancer, and it’s our way of bringing the community together over bacon & egg rolls, hot coffee, and a shared commitment to making a difference. Every dollar raised on the day will be donated directly to the Mark Hughes Foundation, helping fund life saving brain cancer research.

💛 How You Can Support

Whether you’re a local resident, a business owner, or one of our valued clients — everyone is welcome, and every bit of support matters.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Come along on the day – Grab a bite to eat and enjoy the community vibe. All proceeds go to the cause.
  • Donate a raffle prize – Goods, services, or vouchers from local businesses will be raffled off, and in return, we’ll give your business a public thank you and some well-deserved local exposure.
  • Make a monetary donation online – Can’t attend? No worries. You can still support brain cancer research from wherever you are.

🙌 Local Heroes Backing the Cause

We’re incredibly grateful to the Soldiers Point Lions Club, who have generously donated the use of their BBQ for the event. Their ongoing commitment to the community is inspiring, including a recent $22,000 donation (in partnership with the Tomaree Hospital Auxiliary) for new emergency department equipment at Tomaree Hospital.

🎯 Let’s Make a Difference

Brain cancer is one of the most challenging diseases to treat, and yet research remains severely underfunded. Events like this help drive change and offer hope to those impacted.

So pop on your beanie, bring your appetite and join us in raising funds for a cause that needs our collective support.

We can’t wait to see you on Friday 20th June — let’s show what our Port Stephens community is made of!
