Queanbeyan Buyers More Selective as Demand Remains Strong, Says Newly-Appointed PRD Agent.

PRD Queanbeyan has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of experienced local real estate professional Adam Heading, as changing buyer behaviour places greater emphasis on local expertise and trusted advice.

The appointment comes as new PRD Research data shows Queanbeyan's property market remains resilient, with median house prices increasing 3.0 per cent over the past 12 months to $850,000 and unit prices rising 12.8 per cent to $485,000.

Despite continued demand, Mr Heading said buyers are taking a more deliberate approach to property decisions than they were in previous years.

Buyer Behaviour Continues to Evolve

"We're seeing buyers become more considered with their decisions. They're taking the time to do their research, compare options and focus on value rather than rushing into purchases," he said.

"Demand remains strong, particularly as housing supply remains constrained across the region, but buyers are more informed and selective than they have been in the past."

Mr Heading said Queanbeyan continues to attract interest from both local and interstate purchasers due to its relative affordability, lifestyle offering and proximity to Canberra.

Long-Term Confidence in the Region

He also pointed to the region's future growth prospects, with more than $544 million in residential, mixed-use and infrastructure projects expected to commence throughout 2026.

"Queanbeyan offers a compelling long-term proposition for buyers. The combination of ongoing investment, lifestyle appeal and connectivity to Canberra continues to support confidence in the local market," he said.

Strengthening Local Sales Expertise

PRD Queanbeyan’s Martina Woodford, Sales and Operations, said the agency's decision to expand its sales capability reflected growing demand for experienced advisors who can help clients navigate an increasingly nuanced market.

"While the market remains active, buyers today are approaching decisions differently. They're seeking transparency, strong communication and genuine local knowledge from the professionals they work with," Ms Woodford said.

"Adam has built a strong reputation throughout the region for his honest approach, market knowledge and commitment to building long-term relationships with clients. Those qualities align strongly with our values and the level of service we aim to provide."

PRD Managing Director, Todd Hadley said attracting respected local operators remained a key part of the network's growth strategy.

"Success in regional markets comes down to having the right people on the ground who understand their communities and can provide informed, practical advice," Mr Hadley said.

"Adam's appointment strengthens PRD Queanbeyan's ability to deliver local expertise backed by the resources, research and support of a national network."

Mr Heading said he was looking forward to helping more local buyers and sellers navigate the opportunities emerging across the Queanbeyan market.
