Hi Annette Neil from PRD Whitsunday, with this week's update

I'm here today at a stunning house in Airlie beach that is coming to the market soon

I'm not going to tell you where it is just yet, but keep an eye out because we have a group of charming homes in Airlie Beach that will be coming to the market in the next couple of weeks.

What does the R stand for in PRD? It stands for research, and this week, I'm bringing you more research.

So we've been talking about the Australian economy and property report

Well, this week, I will be talking about the half-yearly market update for the Whitsundays that we've just released.

We're talking about quarter for the year, so the quarter ending June
comparing it to the same quarter last year, we have seen the median house price in the 4802 postcode increased to 515 000 which is an increase of 7.6 for the year now

Our units increased to 290 000 for a median price which is a massive increase of 24 and a half per cent for the year.

We're seeing people who've had units for many years cashing in and a lot more demand from southerners in that area of the market.

That's pushing prices up and now we are seeing the sales volumes also increase.

Houses have had a massive increase of 121 in the number of sales.

So more than double. Units have increased 244 for the 12 months. That’s crazy amounts there .

The median rental price has increased to 580 per week for a house in the 4802 postcode.

Now we have seen days on market decrease also quite significantly, which is no surprise.

 Keep in mind that days on the market count only properties listed online.

In our office, we're finding stuff we're leasing before it even makes it to market.

These figures, although it does say we're down 26 to an average of 20 days.

 I do believe that it's not quite an accurate reflection given the stuff that is being leased off-market

I am proud to say though the PRD office is half of the market average.

Our days on the market are 10 when compared to the market average of 20.
